With the cooperation and assistance of the Computer Science, Psychology and Systems Science Departments, the Philosophy Department of Binghamton University offers an innovative, interdisciplinary MA/PhD program in Philosophy. This program is designed to integrate the disciplines of philosophy, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, computer science and systems science.

The Biofeedback Association of Europe [BAE] was founded in 1997. It works towards diffusion of biofeedback [BFB] in European countries by enhancing:

• Scientific research about BFB
• Distribution of accurate information about BFB through mass media
• Encouragement of BFB grants from private and public foundations
• Acknowledgement of BFB therapy by public health agencies and insurance companies
• Education and graduation of new professionals in BFB
• Official certification of the technical requirements of equipment, software and sensors
• Co-operation among BFB associations

The Biofeedback Foundation of Europe [BFE] as founded to promote a greater awareness of biofeedback among European health professionals and, through training workshops, educate clinicians in the use of biofeedback techniques and technology.

The Biofeedback Society of California is the oldest and largest state biofeedback society. It is an open forum for the exchange of ideas, methods, clinical experience, and results of biofeedback and applied psychophysiology and related disciplines.

Objectives:

• Advance biofeedback and applied psychophysiology in educational, scientific, clinical and personal growth areas of development
• Educate professionals and the public
• Develop practice standards and ethics
• Provide criteria concerning who may apply biofeedback and under what circumstances
• Provide peer review
• Provide standards for the evaluation and certification of individuals engaged in the application of biofeedback

The Biofeedback Society of Texas is an open forum for the exchange of ideas, methods, research, clinical experience, and the results of biofeedback and related techniques. The emphasis of the Society is on the clinical application and scientific investigation of biofeedback and related techniques for self-regulation of both internal and external behavior for personal growth, clinical treatment and educational aspects of human experience.

Goals are to:

• Provide a forum for the exchange of clinical information and scientific knowledge
• Educate professionals and the public in the uses, implications, and benefits of self-regulation
• Encourage collaborative research
• Provide training and continuing education
• Make available a peer review process
• Act as a resource and liaison to related disciplines

The mission of the Centro Latino-Americano e do Caribe de Informação em Ciêum;ncias da Saúde [BIREME] is to improve education, research and healthcare in Latin America Latina and the Caribbean by establishing and coordinating the Latin-American and Caribbean System for Health Science Information to serve the needs of the community of health professionals. BIREME was founded in 1967 and retained its original acronym when its name changed.

BIREME is a participating center of the Pan American Health Organization.

The non-profit Black Administrators in Child Welfare [BACW] was formed in 1971 to address the reluctance of child welfare agencies to respond appropriately to the need for specialized services for Black children and their families, and to press for the employment of Black professionals in responsible administrative positions BACW looks to the 21st century, it will begin to move into the training, publication and research arena.
