Objectives:

The European Bipolar Forum [EBF] is an open forum for debate on all topics related to bipolarity and bipolar disorders.

Objectives:

• Broaden the base of Bipolar Disorders in Europe
• Raise the public and political awareness about the importance of Bipolar Disorder in Europe
• Strengthen the standard, availability and uniformity of Bipolar Disorder Treatments in Europe
• Create and maintain continuing medical education accreditation

The European College of Neuropsychopharmacology [ECNP] was established in 1987 on the initiative of scientists and clinicians working in Europe in the convergent disciplines in neuropsychopharmacology. ECNP envisages to encourage research and facilitate communication of research and ideas in this field. ECNP is founding member of the European Brain Council and the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies.

The European Consortium of Arts Therapies Education [ECArTE] was founded in 1991. It is a Consortium of universities (currently comprising 21 member institutions from 7 European countries) working to provide nationally-validated and professionally- recognised standards and training in the arts therapies within Europe. For the purposes of the Consortium, arts therapies include Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, Drama Therapy and Music Therapy.

The European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence was established in July 1982 as a representative body for the European Artificial Intelligence community. Its aim is to promote the study, research and application of Artificial Intelligence in Europe.

European Evaluation of Coercion in Psychiatry and Harmonisation of Best Clinical Practise [EUNOMIA] is a project funded in 2002 by the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Commission.

Objectives:

• Analyse existing variation in coercive psychiatric treatment in 12 European regions in 12 countries, using a naturalistic approach
• Produce guidelines on best clinical practice
• Disseminate findings to professional groups and user organizations at conferences, through journals, and through brochures aimed at specific groups
