Founded in 1977, the Ohio Association of Child & Youth Care Professionals (formerly know as the Ohio Association of Child & Youth Care Workers) has grown into one of the Country's largest organizations dedicate to promoting the professional growth and development of individual child and youth care professionals.

The annual Ohio Prevention and Education Conference [OPEC] is coordinated by The Ohio Resource Network for Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities and funded by The Ohio Department of Education and The Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services.

Objectives:

• Renew the spirit of prevention
• Facilitate the application of best practices in violence and alcohol and other drug prevention across Ohio
• Raise awareness of Ohio's endeavor to create compassionate, safe, and caring schools and communities
• Highlight the availability of Ohio's resources
• Provide opportunities for networking among new and seasoned prevention professionals
