The Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy [TAMFT] is a regional division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

The Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors [TAMFC] is an association dedicated to enhancing the growth and development of counselors specializing in working with couples and families. Today's counselors must work with a wide variety of couple and family systems. Step families, single parent families and childless families represent these evolving systems. Marriage and family counselors are confronted with the challenges of deciding how to work with couple and family systems that may need premarital counseling, marital therapy, divorce counseling, family therapy or individual counseling. The problems confronting these diverse couple and family systems are perplexing; therefore, the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors dedicates itself to providing its members with training, educational information, ethical guidelines and annual conferences to enhance the growth and development of all members.

The non-profit Texas Association on Mental Retardation [TAMR] is the State of Texas Chapter of the American Association on Mental Retardation.

The Texas Association for Play Therapy [TAPT] is a branch of the Association for Play Therapy.

The Institute of Behavioral Research [IBR] at TCU conducts evaluations of drug abuse and addiction services. Special attention is given to assessing and analyzing individual functioning, treatment delivery and engagement process, and their relationships to outcomes. Treatment improvement protocols developed and tested emphasize cognitive and behavioral strategies for programs in community-based as well as criminal justice settings.

Texas Mental Health Counselors Association [TMHCA] membership is open to Licensed Professional Counselors and others whose primary responsibilities or interests are in the area of counseling and human development. All persons who work in private practice, mental health agencies, rehabilitation facilities, community agencies, schools, colleges, business/industry, employment, and related human service settings are eligible for membership.

The Texas Network of Youth Services [TNOYS] is an organization of non-profit, youth-serving agencies and private individuals, who share the common goal of creating better options and improving available services for youth in at-risk situations, and their families. The association was founded in 1978 by a small group of community-based youth programs that served runaways and other youth in crisis across Texas in the hopes that by linking their voices together their concerns about the needs of our youth would be heard. TNOYS has played a leading role in making Texas one of the premiere states in the nation in early intervention services designed to keep young people out of "the system". TNOYS has also established a strong reputation as a provider of quality training and other services to youth service providers.

The Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians [TSPP] is a District Branch of the American Psychiatric Association.
