| About: |
Youth Support is an independent charity set up in 1986 to provide a focus for work with young people who were often ignored by the statutory authorities of the United Kingdom. It provides services for youth and training for professionals. Youth Support work extensively with families including those with older parents - the family provides the ‘stage’ upon which emotional development takes place and sets the scene for future difficulties, personality problems, and patterns of low self worth, self harm and abuse. By working with families Youth Support hope to break cycles of dysfunctional patterns and enable children to grow into happy effective adults and future parents themselves. Much of the work at the residential unit involves child protection issues - diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic/treatment. |
